AC Hotel by Marriott Seoul Gangnam
AC 호텔 바이 메리어트 서울 강남
A hotel bathhouse a short walk from Yeoksam Station, with warm and cold baths plus a dry sauna on the basement level.
About this place
NotesThe hotel opened in 2012 as Mercure Ambassador Seoul Gangnam Sodowe and was rebranded to AC Hotel by Marriott in 2022. The bathhouse is on a basement floor and still uses the pre-rebrand layout, with wooden lockers and solid-timber benches. There are two pools, warm and cold, and no hot pool. On a visit in August 2026 the displayed temperatures were 40.5C and 21C, and the warm pool has a bubble jet. The dry sauna showed 80.7C and has a full glass window looking back toward the baths. Washing is set up two ways: standing shower booths divided by frosted glass, and facing them, the seated wash stations familiar from Korean bathhouses. The changing room has scales, hair dryers and a fridge of bottled water. A sign on the entrance door states, in Korean and English, that mobile phones may not be used.
Practical notes
To use the sauna you swap keys at the L-floor lobby: hand in your room key, say you are going to the sauna, and you get a sauna locker key plus a card key for entry, swapping back on the way out. A cabinet beside the basin in the changing room holds towels and mesh shower towels, so there is nothing to bring. Washing is set up two ways — two standing booths divided by glass, and two seated stations facing them — with bath baskets in two sizes. There are also two wooden ladles of the kind used at Japanese ryokan. A sign at the entrance prohibits phone use, so leave yours in the locker. There is no jjimjilbang floor where you sit around in a uniform; it is baths and a sauna only, so plan a short visit. Check with the hotel about whether non-guests may use the facility and at what rate.
