Bongil Spa Land

Real hot spring water in Bongcheon-dong. Certified alkaline water by Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources. 10,000 KRW daytime entry. 4 hours free parking; closes at 11 PM. It is at Bongil Plaza, 28 Euncheon-ro, Gwanak-gu. Four tubs: the oncheon (hot spring) bath, a warm bath, a cold plunge and an aqua walking massage bath, with the water at pH 9.12. Three saunas — dry, steam, and a bulhanjeungmak fired with pine wood. The heated rooms run to charcoal, salt, silver pyramid, yellow clay and forest bathing, plus an igloo room for cold jjimjil. The yellow clay bulgama (wood-fired kiln room) is women-only, so it is off limits from the men's side. Bring a few things. Shampoo, body wash and conditioner are not stocked, so pack your own. Hair dryers cost 200 KRW; toner and lotion are there. Towels, bath towels, lockers and slippers are provided. Jjimjilbang clothing and a sleeping blanket rent for 2,000 KRW each. Entry is 10,000 KRW by day, 11,000 KRW after 20:00. Hours are 05:00-23:00, open year round. A restaurant, vending machines, a children's play area, billiards, table tennis, an arcade, a charging cafe, a skincare room and a golf range share the building, and the fitness centre is free to use. Grabbing a shower station at peak times is a scramble, so a weekday is the better call.
