About this place
NotesBongnae Tang is a historic neighborhood bathhouse in Bongnae-dong, Yeongdo-gu, Busan. It is decades-old and carries the atmosphere of an older era. The address is 2F, 7 Daegyo-ro 2beon-gil, Yeongdo-gu, Busan, across from the McDonald's at the Bongnae-dong rotary. Hours are 05:00-19:00, closed Tuesdays. Admission is ₩9,000 for adults and ₩5,000 for preschool children; a monthly pass is ₩110,000 and a ten-visit pass ₩80,000. Parking and wi-fi are available; cash and cards accepted. The baths split into high-temperature, low-temperature and cold pools, identical on the men's and women's sides. The hot pool runs on automatic temperature control, and the cold pool has a water-cannon massage jet. Both sides also have a hanjeungmak, a heated room you sit in to sweat. Seshin (Korean full-body scrub), in which an attendant scrubs away softened dead skin, costs ₩25,000 full body or ₩15,000 back for women, and ₩20,000 full body or ₩15,000 for children on the men's side. A rest area and powder room are on site. The fifth floor holds Lounge Cafe Illeong, set in a renovated 1980s house and introduced as Korea's first bathhouse lounge cafe. It serves coffee and light meals, and opens 12:00-21:30, closed Tuesdays.
Practical notes
The bathhouse also runs a lounge cafe on the 5th floor, so you can head straight up after your bath.
