About this place

Notes

Having a hot spring nearby when your legs are jelly from hiking is a blessing. The water is soft and definitely makes your skin smoother. Facilities are a bit old, but that roughness feels charming. Not many people either, so it is perfect for a quiet soak. A must-add to any Sokcho travel plan. The bathing lineup is compact: hot bath 42C, very hot bath 45C, children's bath 38C, outdoor bath 42C. The outdoor bath runs the same 42C as the indoor hot bath, so it is an easy one to sit in for a long stretch with cool air on your face. One public sauna, plus a separate jjimjilbang rest area. Hours differ by zone. Sauna 05:30-20:00, outdoor bath 08:30-19:00. Show up late for the outdoor bath and you miss it. No regular closing day. The water comes up from 4,000m underground, alkaline, sodium bicarbonate. Sauna admission 11,000 KRW, family oncheon (hot spring) room for two 50,000 KRW. Parking is free. Visitors single out the outdoor bath on the women's side. The building shows its age, and dining options nearby are thin. 327 Gwangwang-ro, Sokcho, on the Seoraksan side, five minutes by car from the Sokcho IC. Treat it as the stop you tack on coming down the mountain.

Practical notes

Natural alkaline spring water from 4,000m underground. About 5 min from Sokcho IC. Free parking. The women's section has an open-air bath.
