Private Finnish ritual sauna in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam
About this place
NotesSisu House is a private Finnish sauna in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, a ritual house in the middle of the city combining aroma touch work with Finnish sauna heat. The concept is to wake up dulled senses through precisely designed heat, delicate scent and deep breathing, and the equipment is Finnish HARVIA. Six independent rooms with separated circulation mean guests do not cross paths, and sessions follow a four-step ritual. It opens in the touch zone, where a therapist works on scalp and neck circulation with aroma breathing, then to the salt bar, a warm soak with an organic herb and magnesium salt pouch, then the private sauna, and ends with chilled towels and an ice fountain. Sauna temperature is adjusted per session within about 70–90°C, and bath salt, a sauna hat, a gown and a ginger shot are provided. There is no cold plunge pool; cooling is by cold shower, and on request the water can go as low as 12°C. Programs run ₩75,000 to ₩109,000, split between a spa-only course built around 90 minutes of sauna and a recovery course adding a 20-minute treatment before 70 minutes of sauna. Three-month memberships are offered. The house closes at 22:00, and booking is limited to one guest or two of the same gender; couples cannot book together. There is no on-site parking; valet is ₩5,000.
Practical notes
Couples are not accepted; only solo visitors or same-gender pairs can book. The visit runs as a four-step ritual: a touch zone for scalp and neck circulation, a salt bar with organic herbs and magnesium salt, a private sauna, then a cool-down with cold towels and an ice fountain. On request the plunge is filled to a minimum of 12°C, cold enough that a full minute is hard. An 8-session membership comes with a tote bag and T-shirt, and the 8-session Recovery plan adds a sauna hat. Book through Naver; enquiries are also taken on KakaoTalk.
