A public-bath hotel just opened in Jongno — Dormy Inn Express Insadong

As someone who fell for Dormy Inn's baths on every Japan trip, sharing some news: last December, Dormy Inn EXPRESS Seoul Insadong opened about 3 minutes on foot from Jongno 3-ga Station. The public bath and dry sauna reportedly run from 3 PM to 10 AM the next morning, with free yonaki soba from 9 PM. Perfect spot to soak after walking Insadong and Ikseon-dong — planning to try it on my next Seoul trip. Would love to hear from anyone who has been!

Sharing intel for solo sauna lovers: Sisu House opened in Sinsa-dong this spring — a whole house converted into six private single rooms where you get a guided ritual of warm bath, loyly sauna, cold shower, and rest. It has been featured in Vogue and Allure Korea, and reservations reportedly fill up fast. Courses are 79,000–109,000 won. I have not been yet, but it is at the top of my list — if anyone has tried it, please share how the ritual flow feels!

Located in Goyang (Jichuk Station area), this 1,500-pyeong complex spans 3 full floors and runs 24 hours. 4F - Jjimjilbang: 5 themed rooms including fire sauna (hot/medium), Himalayan salt room, cypress wood room, and ice room. Plus a book cafe, game room, karaoke, kids playroom, and two restaurants (BBQ chicken + Korean food). 5F - Spa & Sauna: Natural rock water from deep underground. 4 different pools (cold, warm, hot, event). Body scrub (seshin) service available. 6F - Rooftop: 23-meter infinity pool (heated), kids pool with water slide, sun beds with mountain views. Pricing: - Sauna only: 12,000 won (~$9 weekday) - Jjimjilbang + Sauna (10 hours): 15,000 won (~$11 weekday) - Weekend prices slightly higher Only 2 years old so everything is clean and modern. 10 min walk from Jichuk Station Exit 2. Free parking up to 6 hours. A great option if you want a full jjimjilbang experience outside of central Seoul — less crowded, more space, and way more affordable.

Incheon Cheongnyangsan Mureungdowon, a hidden 24-hour jjimjilbang

I went to Cheongnyangsan Mureungdowon in Okryeon-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. As the name suggests, it is a large sauna located near a mountain and open 24 hours a day. It is a bit pricey at 15,000 won for adults, but the facilities are clean and well equipped with various sauna areas. It's a good option when looking for a place to go late at night in Incheon. Parking was available and the surroundings were quiet, so it was great for healing.

Suwon Mega Spa Land, 24-hour large Bulgamasauna discovered

I went to Mega Spa Land 24 Hour Bulgama Sauna in Jangan-gu, Suwon. It's quite large and is open 24 hours, so it was nice to be able to go there without any worries even at late hours. There were many different types of bulgogi and the spa area was spacious, so it was easy to relax. It's a bit far from Suwon Station, but the parking lot is large, so it's easy to get there by car. The price is 11,000 won per adult, which is reasonable considering the facilities.

Jeonju Instasauna, a great place to stop by while traveling to Jeonju

I went to Insta Sauna located in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju. It was the perfect place to unwind after a trip to Jeonju Hanok Village. It was affordable at 10,000 won per adult, and the sauna facilities were neatly maintained. I think it would be a good idea to include it in your Jeonju travel itinerary. Tickets are also sold at 11th Street or Hana Tour, so you can use them at a cheaper price if you purchase them in advance.

On the weekend, I went shopping at Starfield Hanam and went up to Aquafield. The open-air bath is larger than expected and has a variety of bath types. The Bulgama area was especially nice, and I was able to sweat off my sweat in the steam room. It's located inside Starfield, so accessibility is really good, and parking is easy. However, there are a lot of people on weekend evenings, so if you want to enjoy it leisurely, weekday afternoons are best.

Asan Spavis Hot Springs, a day hot spring trip from Seoul

Asan Spavis can be reached in an hour and a half by car from Seoul. I use natural hot spring water, and I feel like the water is soft and moisturizes my skin. There are a variety of indoor and outdoor baths, and I especially like the open-air hot springs. It's good for families, and there's Onyang Hot Springs Market nearby, so there's plenty of food. Highly recommended for a day trip to hot springs!

Busan Yeongdo Bongrae-tang, the ultimate local sensibility

Bongraetang in Yeongdo, Busan is the essence of a true local bathhouse. It has the same old feel, but the water is really nice. The medicinal bath is famous, but it definitely feels different from other places. The prices are cheap, and the fact that a lot of local seniors come here is proof that it's a really good restaurant(?). The ratio of locals to tourists is higher, so I recommend it to those who want to experience the real Busan.
