Beitou Public Hot Springs (北投公共溫泉)

An open-air sulphur hot spring just 30 minutes by MRT from central Taipei, 7-minute walk from Xinbeitou Station. Six pools at varying temperatures to suit your preference. The water is heavily sulphuric — you smell it before you see it. Entry just NT$60 (~US$2). Swimwear mandatory (tank tops and bikinis prohibited), maximum 2-hour stay, no interior photography. Bring your own towel. Seniors (65+) get half-price with ID. A unique atmosphere of soaking in nature. Currently temporarily closed — check before visiting.
