② Yeonnam Scrub — from 78,000 won (Basic Scrub). The cheapest private room in Hongdae; menu names in English. Open until 22:00. No phone number — book via NAVER or Instagram DM. Women-only.

③ DAMDA Hapjeong — from 99,000 won for 60 min, separate 70-min pregnancy course at 123,000. 07:00-22:00, NAVER booking or Instagram DM. Women-only.

④ THE SEOL:HA — scrub from 164,000 won for 60 min, separate head-spa menu. Hanok-style spa, the priciest room in Hongdae. 09:00-21:00, last booking 20:00. Language menus are in the Instagram highlights.

Booking → arrival: most rooms are upstairs in a regular building; press the call button on the ground floor or the intercom at the door lock. Walk-ins without a slot are usually turned away.

Start: welcome tea, confirm the course, go to your room. You undress fully and put on a gown — it is a private room, so you never meet other guests.

Treatment: 10-15 min half-body bath → scrub → pack, oil or hair care depending on the course → shower. Your therapist is a woman who handles only you. The scrub is gentler than a bathhouse scrub; say "first time" and she will ease the pressure.

After: powder room with dryers and styling tools, so you can head straight to your next plan. Cards accepted almost everywhere, and no tipping.

Periods: many private rooms will treat you if you use a tampon — say so when booking and they adjust the course.

Tipping: none. Korea has no tipping culture.

What to bring: almost nothing — towels, gown, toiletries and dryers are provided. A lens case and a change of underwear is plenty.

Tattoos: in a private room there are no other guests, so tattoos are never an issue. Bathhouses vary.

Pain: gentler than a bathhouse scrub. Ask for "soft" if it is your first time.

Time: budget about 90 minutes even for a 60-minute course, including the bath and finishing.

If 80,000 won feels like too much, there is a 24-hour jjimjilbang 200 m from Exit 4 of Hongik Univ. Station. Entry is 12,000-16,000 won for bath and sauna, and you can add a bathhouse-style scrub inside. The station is on the airport line, so many travellers nap here the night before an early flight.

The trade-off: it is a shared, gender-separated bath. If "alone is fine but not naked in front of strangers", choose a private room; if price comes first, choose the jjimjilbang.
