Step 1 — Entry, Shoe Locker, Getting Your Uniform
At the entrance, put your shoes in the shoe locker and pay the entry fee at the counter (usually ₩10,000–15,000). You receive a uniform (a short-sleeve tee and shorts), towels, and a locker key. At many venues the locker key doubles as a wristband you use to pay for food and drinks inside, settling up when you leave. You then enter the gender-separated changing room and put your clothes in the locker.
Step 2 — Wash in the Bathhouse, Change into the Uniform
First, wash yourself with a shower in the bathhouse (gender-separated, nude). You can soak in the pools or enjoy the sauna here too. After washing, change into the uniform and you can head out to the mixed-gender jjimjilbang area. Folding your towel into the "sheep-head" wrap is a signature bit of jjimjilbang fun.
Step 3 — Must-Tries, Prices & Hours
Rotate through the rooms of different temperatures (yellow-clay, salt, ice rooms, and more), 5–15 minutes each. In the food court, sikhye (a sweet rice drink) and eggs roasted on hot stones are the classic combo. Most venues run 24 hours; entry is ₩10,000–15,000, with a late-night surcharge often added after about 10 PM. Towels and the uniform are provided, so you only really need your own toiletries.
