Seoul Couple Spa for an Anniversary — Four Spas With a Real Couple Room, the Places That Refuse Couples, How a Jjimjilbang Works for Two, and How to Book (Fall 2026)

· Spa Eir, Lotte World Mall Jamsil — from Jamsil Station exit 10 or 11 into Lotte World Mall gate 9, 6F Healing Street. The signature course is the Couple Spa, 90 minutes, 409,000 won for two, and it runs private single rooms and couple rooms separately. 11:00–22:00, last booking 20:30. Same building and neighbourhood as the Lotte World Tower observatory and Seokchon Lake, so it is the easiest one to build an anniversary day around. · Vonestis Beauty & Spa Hannam — B1 of the Hyperion building in Hannam-dong. About 400 m² with one VIP room, three couple suites and four single rooms; the signature programme opens with a Tibetan singing-bowl meditation. Prices are not published — ask by phone (02-794-5864) or KakaoTalk — and it is reservation-only. Mon–Fri 10:00–22:00, Sat 10:00–18:00, closed Sundays and public holidays, so for a weekend anniversary aim for Saturday daytime.

· The Spa L Private, Yeongdeungpo — 7 minutes from Dangsan Station exit 8, 7F of Dream Plaza building A. Spa + skin solution 100 min 210,000 won, spa + body basic 100 min 230,000 won (per person). It describes itself as "one guest at a time", so ask first whether two people can be treated in the same slot. Open 10:00–24:00, which is unusually late.

· Mosante Head Spa, Hapjeong — 3 minutes from Hapjeong Station exit 2, 4F. A head spa rather than a massage, but its "Hinoki Forest Healing Spa for two" at 220,000 won puts two people side by side. 10:00–22:00. Book via Naver or Instagram DM (@mosante_official) and request the two-person spa in advance. Fits well before an evening in Hongdae.

Whether male guests are accepted cannot be confirmed from the listings alone at any of the four, so write "one man and one woman, couple" in your booking message.

In Japan "private room" suggests a room for two, but most private saunas and scrub shops in Seoul take one person, or at most two people of the same sex. A body scrub is done undressed, so the venue matches the gender of the therapist and the guest.

· Sisu House (Sinsa) — six Finnish-style private sauna rooms, Sisu Spa Only 75,000–79,000 won. It states that it does not take couples; bookings are for one person or two of the same sex.
· La:Hin scrub shop (Chungmuro) — women only. It has a two-person room, but for a female friend or family member.
· Spa Homme (Bongcheon) — men-only one-person spa, male therapists.

So if what you want is "a scrub for both of us", the answer is to book two different venues at the same hour (or the men's and women's scrub tables inside the same jjimjilbang) and meet afterwards. If it is your first scrub, read the first-time guide first.

A jjimjilbang works like this: pay at the entrance and receive cotton clothes and a locker key → split into the men's and women's baths, wash and soak → put on the clothes and come out into the shared hall → meet there. The hall has heated rooms at different temperatures, sleeping rooms, a restaurant and a big floor in front of the TV, and couples lying side by side is an ordinary sight in Korea. Allow about 30 minutes and agree "in front of the hall restaurant at X o'clock".

· Sparex Dongmyo — 40 m from Dongmyo Station exit 6, 24 hours. 14,000 won by day, 16,000 at night, clothes included. Modern interior, the easiest first jjimjilbang. Walking distance from the Dongdaemun night market.
· Baekje Fire Kiln & Ginseng Sauna, Seokchon — 171 m from Seokchon Tomb Station exit 2, 24 hours including holidays. 13,000 by day, 17,000 at night. A natural finish to a Jamsil / Seokchon Lake date.
· The Park Spa Land (Yeongdeungpo) — 3 minutes from Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station, 24 hours. 10,000 won, +1,000 at night, clothes 1,000. Praised for its baths; the hall is crowded at weekends.
· Aquafield Hanam — 3F of Starfield Hanam. Jjimjil spa 26,000 won, hotel-grade interior, eight themed rooms including Himalayan salt and charcoal. The most "date-like" jjimjilbang, but it closes at 22:00 (last entry 20:00), so no overnight. Baths are separated here too.

Three things to know: the clothes are a T-shirt and shorts, so underwear is your call; some places require a physical ID such as a passport to stay overnight (Sparex); and after midnight many sleeping rooms are split by gender.

In a hotel spa the places a couple can share are the pool and the jacuzzi, worn with swimwear. Sauna and baths are separated, and whether a treatment room is a couple room must be confirmed when you book.

· Signiel Spa Seoul (Lotte World Tower, Jamsil) — sauna day pass 44,000 won, treatments from 200,000. A 34°C infinity pool and a 38°C jacuzzi, presented as the highest pool in Korea. Pool 06:00–22:00, spa 10:00–22:00 by reservation, closed the last Wednesday of each month. Open to non-guests.
· Four Seasons Hotel Seoul Spa (Gwanghwamun) — treatments from 300,000 won. Private treatment rooms; if you want the Gwanghwamun / Gyeongbokgung view, ask for a window room when booking. Weekdays 12:30–21:30, weekends and holidays 10:00–21:30. Book at least a week ahead for weekends. Hotel guests use the pool and sauna free.

A sample anniversary day around Jamsil: afternoon — Spa Eir couple spa, 90 minutes → a walk around Seokchon Lake → evening — Lotte World Tower observatory or the Signiel pool → night — finish at Baekje Fire Kiln (Seokchon) in sauna clothes. Only the spa needs a reservation; nothing else does.

Every couple-room spa is reservation-only, and Korea's Naver booking often rejects foreign phone numbers. The realistic order is:

1. Instagram DM — Spa Eir (@spaeir_jamsil_spa) and Mosante (@mosante_official) take bookings by DM. "2 people, couple room, date, time, course name" in English is enough.
2. Phone — Vonestis 02-794-5864, Spa Eir 02-3213-4610, The Spa L 0507-1373-2888. If Korean is the problem, go to step 3.
3. LUWEI concierge — send the venue, date, time and number of people; LUWEI calls in Korean to confirm and replies in Japanese, English or Chinese. Free. LUWEI only relays; confirmation, cancellation, refunds and prices follow each venue's rules.

Whether saying "it's our anniversary" brings flowers, cake or champagne varies by venue, and none of the four publish such a service. Do not expect it; asking "is there anything you can do for an anniversary?" is the right level. Payment is usually by card on the day, and some venues ask for a deposit against no-shows.
