NotesOpened in 2018 — the birthplace of Japan's outdoor sauna movement. Five Finnish wood-burning saunas handcrafted by a Finnish sauna master, nestled in the forest by Lake Nojiri. The two-story Kaksi sauna added in 2020 is a completely different experience with its attic design. Nothing but firelight and crackling wood. About 3 hours from Tokyo by bullet train and bus. Far, but sauna pilgrims know exactly why they come. Reservation required.
